Job description

Senior Boilermaker job vacancy in Vanderbijlpark.

Our client is a leader in advanced engineering solutions, seeking a highly skilled and certified Senior Boilermaker. In this critical role, you will ensure the integrity and safety of high-pressure vessels and molten metal containers.

Salary: R17,500 to R21,000 per month depending on experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Fabricate, assemble, and install steel structures, furnaces, ladles, and pressure vessels.
• Perform advanced welding and metal shaping techniques to precise specifications.
• Inspect equipment to identify wear, damage, or potential failure points.
• Diagnose problems and determine effective repair methodologies.
• Ensure all work meets stringent industry safety and quality standards.
• Verify installations can withstand extreme heat, stress, and pressure.
• Strictly adhere to and promote safety protocols (OHS Act), especially for high-risk work.
• Coordinate with the Site Foreman and team to ensure seamless operations.
• Safely operate and maintain tools and equipment (e.g., grinders, torches, rigging gear).

Minimum Requirements:

• Mandatory Red Seal Boilermaker (Welder) certification.
• NQF Level 4 or higher.
• 10+ years’ experience with pressure vessels and molten metal containers in heavy industry (mining, smelting, power stations).
• Expert proficiency in welding, fabrication, and interpreting complex technical drawings.
• Strong metallurgical knowledge of metal behaviour under stress and heat.
• Physically capable with excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
