ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a Senior Bid Manager, you will be responsible for leading the end-to-end bid process, managing multiple complex opportunities simultaneously, and collaborating closely with stakeholders across Sales, Solutions, and various Business Units. You will play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and delivering compelling, high-quality proposals that meet client needs and comply with internal governance standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Managing the full bid lifecycle until final submission.
- Coordinating input from subject matter experts, solution architects, and commercial teams.
- Working with deal owners in refining win strategies to maximise success rates.
- Creating and maintaining project timelines to ensure timely delivery of all bid components.
- Driving quality and compliance across all proposal documents.
- Working with deal owners and solution architects identifying and addressing risks or issues throughout the bid process.
- Supporting and mentoring colleagues within the Bid Centre.

FORMAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Grade 12.
- APMP certified – Practitioner level (preferable).
- Strong technical proficiency in Microsoft O365 (including Teams and SharePoint) and Adobe.
- Proven experience in a senior bid management role, ideally within a complex or large-scale business environment within the ICT/Service/Telecoms industry.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple bids simultaneously to successful outcomes – minimum of 5 years.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- A proactive approach with the confidence to challenge and escalate where necessary.
- Familiarity with proposal automation tools is desirable.
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Lead the development and submission of proposals, tenders, and bid responses, effectively coordinating inputs from various internal stakeholders.
- Analyse Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and amendments to formulate comprehensive bid plans, define roles and responsibilities and create task schedules.
- Collaborate closely with deal owners and solution architects to align with tender specifications and requirements.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of bid lifecycle processes, planning methodologies, tools, and governance frameworks.
- Develop and manage bid documentation in conjunction with the bid team.
- Contribute to the creation and refinement of response documentation, ensuring alignment with RFP expectations and organisational standards.
- Coordinate technical content development in partnership with subject matter experts and leadership teams.
- Conduct initial reviews of draft content to ensure alignment with RFP requirements and evaluation criteria.
- Adhere to Gijima’s established proposal development procedures and quality assurance protocols.
- Manage the timely collection, compilation, and submission of tender documentation in accordance with agreed and committed deadlines.
- Liaise with the marketing team to support proposal content, presentation materials and alignment with Corporate Identity.
- Maintain and organise a comprehensive bid library, ensuring the secure storage and accessibility of all tender-related records.
- Understand and accommodate the unique proposal requirements of different service lines while maintaining consistency with overall company standards.
- Track and follow up on submitted bids and proactively gather feedback and insights for continuous improvement.
- Facilitate and lead internal bid-related meetings, manage all related communications, track action items, and ensure timely follow-through.

- Skilled in engaging with senior executives and stakeholders to align on strategy, drive initiatives, and support business objectives.
