Job summary

The public tertiary education institution in Stellenbosch seeks a Senior BI and Business Analyst to bridge business needs and the engineering team. You will develop and maintain the BI platform, translate information requirements into reliable, tested BI solutions, and ensure data accuracy across pipelines.

You will analyze data sources, document specs, and deliver training materials to enable self‑service reporting.

Qualifications

Relevant tertiary qualification in data engineering, computer science, information systems, BI, statistics, or related field.
Three or more years’ experience with BI platforms or data analytics in higher education or complex environments.
Experience translating business needs into technical BI solutions, with strong data modelling ability.

Responsibilities

Developing and maintaining the institution’s BI platform and reporting models with ICT and engineers.
Analyse source data, gather requirements, compile specifications, and translate needs into BI solutions.
Test developments and validate data accuracy before deployment as the quality check between business and engineering.
Create training materials and data glossaries to enable self-service and inform super users.
Contribute research on BI platform developments and analytics tooling; maintain IDA knowledge base.
