Role Summary
Accountable for the overall delivery of Pensions and Employee Benefits strategy, policy, and related practices and services for Pick n Pay. This includes strategy, tactical design, delivery plans, formulation of associated practices, and ensuring operational implementation and adoption in terms of pensions and employee benefit methodology, governance, and delivery objectives.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degrees and Advanced Diplomas in Business, Commerce, and Management Studies (Required)
- 8 - 10 years' experience; demonstrated ability to drive strategy, methodology, and offerings across different organizational levels

Key Responsibilities
- Provide input into the strategic direction and development of benefits strategies to ensure the adoption of best practices and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Ensure benefits strategies and policies comply with regulations, governance, and are legally compliant.
- Participate in external forums to stay abreast of professional developments and best practices.
- Stay informed about regulatory changes; advise leadership on implications and manage impacts.
- Support the Reward and Benefits Lead in implementing benefit programs aligned with company objectives.
- Liaise with stakeholders to address benefit and recognition opportunities and ensure successful interventions.
- Build stakeholder relationships, advise, influence, and negotiate at relevant levels.
- Provide guidance on benefits methods, programs, interventions, and processes.
- Identify industry trends and opportunities to create strategic relationships with key bodies.
- Develop or source quality benefits solutions to support talent attraction and retention, including guaranteed and variable rewards.
- Evaluate current benefits solutions for continuous improvement.
- Assist with daily employee reward structuring and execution.
- Support review of annual share allocations and vesting.
- Support payroll, benefits, and reward teams.
- Participate in fostering an employee wellbeing culture within the Reward team.
- Maintain detailed records of all programs.
- Lead, coach, and motivate the Benefits team to ensure high-quality service delivery, including training and development.
