We work in over 100 countries, leveraging capital, expertise, and influence to create markets and opportunities. Our mission is to use the private sector to end extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity sustainably.
Our strategy emphasizes investment in Low Income Countries (LICs) and Fragile and Conflict-affected States (FCS), aiming to foster private investments in riskier markets by proactively engaging in these regions. The Financial Institutions Group (FIG) manages about 40% of IFC’s business, focusing on increasing financial access, scaling sustainability and climate finance, and enhancing financial system resilience.
IFC aims to hire a Banking Specialist to enhance its banking expertise within the FIG Global Industry Unit. The role, based in Johannesburg but potentially global in scope, involves supporting investment appraisals, client capacity building, and knowledge dissemination. The Banking Specialist will report to the Chief Banking Specialist and work closely with regional managers to implement strategies, support business development, and mentor junior staff. The role requires significant travel and a proven track record in private sector banking at senior levels.
