Job summary

Absa Group in South Africa seeks a seasoned Bank Treasurer to lead ALM, liquidity management, and funding strategy for the ZAR and USD books. The role provides executive guidance to Finance, Risk, and governance forums, ensuring resilient risk-adjusted returns.

You will own budgets, manage risk limits, and coordinate with Global Markets while driving governance, reporting, and compliance in a dynamic, regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification in finance, economics, accounting, quantitative finance or related discipline.
• CA(SA), CFA or equivalent is advantageous.
• Significant senior experience in Bank treasury, ALM, liquidity, funding, capital or balance sheet management.

Responsibilities

• Own the ZAR and USD ALM budgets and performance.
• Steer structural interest rate and liquidity positions within approved limits.
• Oversee HQLA portfolio management and governance.
• Advise ALCO on balance sheet strategy and risk-reward trade-offs.
• Coordinate funding, hedging and market activity with Global Markets.
