Placements24 is seeking a Senior Backend Software Engineer in Midrand, Gauteng. You will design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Python, Java, Go, or Node.js. Collaborate with product and frontend teams to translate requirements into robust software solutions.

You will optimize performance, implement tests and CI/CD pipelines, and contribute to architectural decisions while ensuring data security and reliable operation in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of backend software development experience.
• Proven expertise in Python, Java, Go, or Node.js.
• Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB).
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes; CI/CD pipelines and related tools.
