Placements24 is seeking a seasoned Senior Backend Developer to join its Bloemfontein technology hub. The role focuses on designing, building, and maintaining robust APIs powering diverse applications and services.

You will design RESTful APIs, implement secure authentication, and collaborate with frontend teams to deliver scalable backend solutions using Java, Python, Node.js, or Go. Cloud and containerization experience is a plus, with a strong emphasis on API design and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of professional backend development experience with a strong emphasis on API design.
• Proficiency in backend languages such as Java, Python, Node.js, or Go.
• Extensive experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and knowledge of API design best practices (OpenAPI/Swagger).
• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases and ORM frameworks.
• Experience with cloud platforms and containerization is a plus.
