We're working with a Canadian-based FinTech client that's building a brand new payment and ledger platform — from scratch.

No legacy code. No duct tape. Just fresh architecture and real impact.

They need a Senior Payment Backend Developer. Someone who can lead the charge on event-driven architecture, build out robust double-entry systems, and make sure money moves accurately, securely, and at scale.

12-month rolling contract

Remote within South Africa

R80k – R115k / month

Ruby | Kafka | Temporal.io | PostgreSQL | AWS

If you’ve got 6+ years backend experience, with 3+ in payments or ledgers, and you know your way around Kafka and Temporal, this role has your name on it.

You'll be :

Leading the build of a brand new financial engine

Designing scalable, distributed systems

Owning compliance, consistency, and correctness

Working closely with a product-focused, outcome-driven team

Getting into the nitty-gritty of double-entry bookkeeping

And being the go-to person for all things backend + FinTech

Solid experience with Ledger platforms

Bonus if you’ve touched SWIFT, SEPA, Fedwire, or built anything with banking APIs.
