Job summary

ATS Client is seeking a Senior AWS Engineer for a 6 Month Contract in Johannesburg. The role focuses on designing AWS-based infrastructure, implementing IaC with Terraform or CloudFormation, and optimizing performance and cost-efficiency.

You will secure IAM policies, encryption, and auditing while collaborating across DevOps, development, and security teams. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in cloud engineering on AWS, strong scripting skills, and experience with containers (Docker, ECS, EKS).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering with a focus on AWS.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, etc.).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.).
• Experience with IaC tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Familiarity with containerization (Docker, ECS, EKS) and orchestration.
• AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional) are a plus.
