Qualifications

About the Role

Our client, a leading aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) organization based in Polokwane, Limpopo, ZA , is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Aviation Quality Assurance Specialist. This role is critical for upholding the highest standards of safety, compliance, and operational excellence within our MRO facilities. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing quality assurance programs, conducting audits, and ensuring adherence to all relevant aviation regulations and industry standards. The ideal candidate possesses a comprehensive understanding of aviation quality systems, regulatory requirements, and a meticulous approach to detail. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's Quality Management System (QMS).
• Conduct internal and external audits of MRO processes, facilities, and documentation to ensure compliance.
• Ensure adherence to aviation regulations (e.g., SA-CATS, EASA, FAA) and company policies.
• Investigate quality deficiencies, non‑conformances, and customer complaints, recommending and implementing corrective actions.
• Manage the approval and control of technical documentation, manuals, and procedures.
• Oversee the calibration and maintenance of inspection and testing equipment.
• Train and mentor staff on quality assurance principles, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality and safety, reporting findings to senior management.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities during audits and inspections.
• Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
• Manage vendor quality assurance programs and supplier audits.
• Review and approve aircraft maintenance records for completeness and accuracy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Aviation Technology, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; relevant professional certifications are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in aviation quality assurance or compliance roles.
• In‑depth knowledge of aviation MRO operations and regulatory frameworks (e.g., SA-CATS Part 145, EASA Part 145, FAA Part 145).
• Proven experience in developing and implementing Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Strong understanding of audit procedures, non‑conformance reporting, and corrective action processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
