Senior Automation Tester

We are seeking a Senior Automation Tester to lead the automation testing efforts for our software applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in test automation frameworks, scripting, and continuous integration processes to ensure the highest quality in our products. What you'll do:

1. Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for web, mobile, and API testing.
2. Implement and enhance test automation frameworks to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
3. Develop and execute test strategies, test plans, and test cases based on business and technical requirements.
4. Collaborate with development, DevOps, and product teams to ensure seamless integration of automated tests in CI/CD pipelines.
5. Identify, analyze, and document software defects and work closely with developers to resolve issues.
6. Conduct performance, security, and regression testing as part of the automation suite.
7. Mentor junior testers and provide guidance on automation best practices.
8. Stay up to date with industry trends, tools, and best practices in automation testing.

Your expertise:

1. Proven experience (5+ years) as a Test Automation Specialist or similar role.
2. Strong proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, etc.).
3. Experience in designing and implementing automation strategies tailored to project requirements.
4. Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
5. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
6. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work across teams and stakeholders.
7. Develop reusable and scalable automated test scripts using various automation tools.
8. Experience with continuously improving and maintaining automation test frameworks, ensuring alignment with current best practices.
9. Experience working with Development and QA teams to integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring rapid testing and feedback in DevOps workflows.

Qualifications required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred qualifications:

1. Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
2. Industry certifications in test automation (e.g., ISTQB Advanced Level, Certified Selenium Tester).
3. Azure DevOps Engineer Expert and/or Power Automate RPA Developer Associate (PL-) and/or Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-).
4. Experience with performance testing tools and frameworks.
5. Knowledge of cloud platforms and virtualization technologies.

Other information applicable to the opportunity:

Contract Position - Initial 3 months that could possibly go perm.
Location: Roodepoort.
Work Model: Onsite, Monday to Friday.
