Job description

As a Senior Automation Engineer, Warehouse, you will be accountable for providing the necessary direction and leadership to ensure technical success and performance across our Packing and Warehouse Automation platforms.

You will significantly define our Automation Program and Warehouse Material Handling future concepts, including preparation for regional scalability and standardization.

This role offers the opportunity to develop and implement innovative automation projects that enhance productivity, safety, and quality across multiple locations.

Work locations include our Battle Creek, Michigan, or Chicago, IL headquarters, or any major plant locations: Cary, North Carolina; Jackson, Tennessee; Rome, Georgia; Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Travel to project locations is estimated at 30%—50%.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop project scopes, cost estimates, charters, stage gate reviews, and technical specifications; assist with installation and startup of warehouse and distribution center-related capital projects.
  2. Collaborate with Global Technology Owners to identify and align standard equipment for Packaging/Warehouse.
  3. Lead communities of practice in automation, warehouse, and distribution centers.
  4. Build partnerships with Supply Chain, Engineering, and KWS teams to identify value-adding opportunities.
  5. Balance innovative concepts with practical, data-driven decisions to improve productivity.
  6. Develop strategic relationships with OEMs to enhance technology performance and standardization.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with 8-10+ years of relevant experience or 10+ years of significant technical experience.
  • Experience driving transformational change in manufacturing environments.
  • Proven ability to work globally across regional teams and capital projects.
Compensation & Benefits:

The annual salary range is $X - $Y, depending on experience and location. Discretionary bonuses are also available.
