Job description

Job Purpose

To source new commercial Property Finance transactions, maintain existing Property Finance clients, and optimize relationship-based business potential to ensure maximum profitability and return for the Bank. Demonstrate an in-depth understanding of the commercial property and capital markets, with related product and service knowledge to cross-sell and meet clients' needs. Ensure Nedbank Property Finance remains a dominant player in the market through innovative deal-making and product structuring.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Achieve and/or exceed financial targets by effectively acquiring property finance deals and managing the portfolio.
  2. Seek creative approaches to secure deals.
  3. Develop strong relationships with new and existing clients, property brokers, estate agents, and other referral channels within the region, and initiate new business.
  4. Possess adequate insight into financing instruments to create deals.
  5. Go beyond standard procedures (within risk management parameters) to ensure deals are booked.
  6. Build and maintain relationships with established clients within the region, retaining and optimizing existing business opportunities.
  7. Add value through a thorough understanding of the property market.
  8. Ensure operational excellence in dealing with client queries to provide internal and external client satisfaction.
  9. Identify inherent and potential risks in the regional property market.
  10. Evaluate and mitigate credit risks embedded within deals and the environment to maximize risk and return.
  11. Analyze and interpret financial statements of listed and private property clients.
  12. Identify new business opportunities across Nedbank's divisions based on a thorough understanding of client needs and product offerings.

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Advanced Diplomas or National First Degrees.
  2. BCom or BSC in Property Studies or equivalent financial qualification; CA(SA) and CFA are advantageous.
  3. 5-8 years’ experience in commercial and industrial property finance, client acquisition, sales, and property development.
