The Role: Senior Architectural Technologist

As Senior Architectural Technologist, you will be responsible for translating conceptual designs into high-quality technical documentation. Youll lead the technical execution of projects, coordinating with consultants and contractors to ensure the design intent is maintained throughout all phases of delivery. Your experience and leadership will ensure the delivery of compliant, constructible, and innovative architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret design intent and develop precise construction documentation
• Produce accurate, detailed architectural and technical drawings using Revit
• Ensure all documentation meets applicable codes, regulations, and internal standards
• Liaise with consultants, contractors, and local authorities throughout the project lifecycle
• Assess materials and construction methods to optimise technical solutions
• Coordinate multidisciplinary technical input to ensure cohesive delivery
• Support planning, costing, and technical documentation delivery

About You

• National Diploma or BTech in Architectural Technology
• Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in architectural documentation and delivery
• Demonstrated ability to lead the production and management of technical drawings
• Advanced proficiency in Revit (shortlisted candidates will complete an assessment)
• Strong knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and local regulations
• Proven experience engaging with municipal authorities and regulatory bodies
• Skilled in BIM workflows and digital collaboration tools
• Additional skills in façade detailing, sustainability certifications (e.g., Green Star), or 3D modelling are advantageous
• Detail-oriented with excellent coordination and time management abilities
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset
• Legally eligible to work in South Africa
• Willing to travel if project requirements demand
