Zohorecruit's client in Cape Town seeks an experienced Android/Kotlin developer to contribute to a Kotlin Android application, designing, developing and testing code in Kotlin and Java.

You will draft technical specs, perform code reviews, monitor performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to publish to the Play Store. Requires 5+ years in software development, 4+ years Kotlin, and RESTful API experience; Git and OOP/design patterns are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software development, including 4+ years of Kotlin experience.
• Experience in architecting, developing, testing, and maintaining Android mobile applications.
• Proficiency with Git revision control and issue tracking or management systems.
• Advanced understanding of algorithms, data structures, OOP, and design patterns (MVC/MVVM).
• Beneficial experience with e-commerce applications, Firebase, Go, Google Cloud Platform, and AI / MCP.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of the Kotlin Android application.
• Design, develop, and test code written in Kotlin and Java.
• Draft technical specifications and briefs, and perform code reviews.
• Monitor and profile application performance.
• Monitor services and systems within the infrastructure.
• Collaborate with creative, content, and engineering teams to design and develop the app, and publish it to the Play Store.
