Job summary

Takealot Group is seeking a Software Engineer (Android Storefront) to design, develop and refine new features for the Android storefront. You will work with a mobile engineering team to locate and resolve crashes and write quality code.

The role requires a Bachelor’s or Advanced Diploma in relevant fields and 3+ years mobile development, with at least 2 years native Android. You will use Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and modern Android architecture patterns, in a hybrid work setup.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in IS/CS/Math/Engineering with 3+ years in software/tech.
• 3+ years mobile development experience with at least 2 years on native Android.
• Strong CS and programming fundamentals.
• Solid understanding of Android app and activity lifecycles.
• Proficient in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Android architecture components.
• Knowledge of Android async processing techniques.
• Experience handling fragmentation across screens and OS versions.
• Familiar with Android UX design patterns.
