COMPANY DESCRIPTION : Our client is a South African pharmaceutical benefits management (PBM) organization specializing in electronic claims processing and medicine benefits management.

JOB DESCRIPTION : To collaborate with stakeholders from all business units and third parties to design, develop, test, analyze, and maintain software applications supporting business requirements. Responsibilities include investigation, planning, design, development, testing, and maintenance of applications.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

1. Analyse & Design : Analyze requests/projects for timeline, scope, and risk. Design software solutions aligned with standards and methodologies. Improve operations through system analysis and policy recommendations.
2. Develop, Test & Implement : Plan and execute testing, develop and verify software per specifications, and communicate changes impacting deadlines.
3. Administer & Document : Utilize supporting systems for request management, produce documentation, and maintain records of development and changes.
4. Development Coding Quality : Ensure code quality based on standards, debugging, and lifecycle criteria. Follow naming conventions and implement improvements.
5. Deadlines : Manage projects within agreed timelines, communicate delays, and negotiate new deadlines.
6. Comebacks : Minimize bugs and rework to below 5%.
7. Coaching, Mentoring & Support : Mentor team members, support project design, and assist with user queries to achieve organizational goals.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS : Grade 12, relevant IT qualification, and postgraduate IT qualification.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED : Minimum 5 years' experience with ILE advanced concepts, some REST API experience, and fluency in RDIA. Willingness for after-hours and standby duties. Advantageous: Web development experience (HTML, JavaScript, etc.).

OTHER ATTRIBUTES : Ability to understand interdependencies, adapt to changing priorities, work independently, solve problems, and grasp project requirements quickly. Capable of designing scalable, maintainable, and reusable software functionality. Experience with complex, integrated applications involving large data processing.
