The Advocacy Division at the Competition Commission South Africa (“Commission”) is responsible for promoting competition through non-enforcement means. It focuses on ensuring a pro-competition legislative, policy, and regulatory environment, promoting awareness of compliance with the Competition Act, and resolving competition concerns through non-enforcement means.
The Competition Commission seeks to appoint a progressively experienced Senior Analyst in the Advocacy Division to contribute meaningfully to advancing the Commission’s objectives through impactful policy and legislative analysis, and the resolution of complex competition matters. This role is suited to individuals who have progressed beyond foundational technical functions, are able to operate independently, manage complexity, and provide strategic input across multidisciplinary teams. It requires a consistent, detail-oriented, adaptable, and self-driven individual with demonstrated depth in policy research, advocacy, and economic or legal analysis. The position offers exposure to advanced issues in competition law, policy-making, and regulatory economics.
A starting annual total cost to company package of R 1227388,98 (negotiable, commensurate with experience).
Please note this position is available on a five-year fixed-term contract, renewable.
