Job description
Responsibilities
  • Operational
  • Communicate with client services representative and / or origin / destination agents where required with regards to shipments
  • Receive pre-alert for incoming shipments
  • Ensure that consol files are registered as soon as possible after receiving the pre-alert on Cargowise
  • Track shipments with carriers
  • Registering shipments upon receipt of pre alert taking special note of details and cargo requirements
  • Ensuring RCG is completed where required
  • Ensuring full consignment received and updating all parties
  • Checking client account status prior to invoicing to ensure CBO payments are received prior to dispatch
  • Ensure invoicing to clients are done within KPI
  • Arrange transport for shipments where required
  • Arrange payment to 3rd parties where required
  • Following up on cargo drawn from airlines
  • Submitting required docs for plant, port health, state vet to required people to obtain release
  • Putting airline on notice for missing cargo and follow up accordingly
  • Managing full claims process with the airline where required
  • Inform CS of damaged cargo
  • Inform CS of any stops (CBCU etc)
  • Follow up with customs team for outstanding entries
  • Check cargo on hand report for discrepancies for shipments on the floor longer than it should be
  • Send daily status updates to all parties
  • Manage daily / monthly reports as per instruction from manager
Financial
  • Check for WIPS and Accruals on "Profit and Loss" tab
  • Ensure storage is not occurred for late submission of documents
  • Ensure WIPs and Accruals are done in the correct time and correct amount to not create losses
Customer
  • Where there is interaction with clients a strong relationship has to be fostered
  • The customer must come first in everything we do
  • Resolve queries that affect claims quickly and resolve the issue
Process
  • Follow the standard process flow of the file and if there are any deviations bring to the attention of the supervisor immediately.
Quality
  • Every file must be done to the best of your ability
  • Ensure all milestones are complete.

REQUIREMENTS :

Qualification & Certification
  • Matric or Senior Certification equivalent
  • Industry qualifications is an advantage.

  • Minimum of 5 years of Industry experience
