Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Aircraft Maintenance Engineer for our client in Klerksdorp, North West. You will oversee heavy and line maintenance, diagnose complex systems, and ensure airworthiness across a diverse fleet.

You will mentor junior technicians and collaborate with operations to minimize downtime. Applicants must hold a valid aviation maintenance license (e.g., EASA Part-66 or equivalent), with at least five years of progressive experience, and demonstrate strong problem solving

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years progressive experience in aircraft maintenance.
• Valid aviation maintenance license with relevant type ratings.
• Strong ability to diagnose and repair complex aircraft systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections and repairs on various aircraft types per manufacturer and regulatory specs.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and avionics issues and implement effective repairs.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff and provide guidance on procedures.
• Interpret technical manuals, blueprints and drawings for maintenance tasks.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records in compliance with airworthiness directives and policies.
• Perform functional tests and system checks post-maintenance to ensure safety and performance.
• Collaborate with flight operations to minimize downtime and ensure aircraft availability.
• Contribute to development and implementation of improved maintenance procedures.
