Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Aircraft Component Technician for our workshop in Mahikeng, North West, South Africa. You will diagnose, repair, and overhaul aircraft components, ensuring safety and performance before reinstallation.

The role requires a relevant trade qualification and at least 5 years of MRO experience with major aircraft systems. You will work hands-on, use precision tools, and mentor junior technicians.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualification in Aircraft Mechanical Fitting, Electrical or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of proven experience as an Aircraft Component Technician in an MRO environment.
• Experience with major aircraft component systems (landing gear, actuators, power units, EC systems).
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints and schematics.
• Strong understanding of aviation regulations and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRO on aircraft components across hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Diagnose malfunctions using specialized test equipment and procedures.
• Disassemble, inspect, repair, reassemble components per manuals and specs.
• Maintain records of maintenance, parts used, and test results.
• Identify defective parts and initiate requisitions for replacements.
• Mentor junior technicians and ensure workshop safety and organization.
