Job summary

Badger Holdings is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for ARC AI in George, Western Cape. You will architect, build, and operate AI agent systems that power enterprise products, with a strong emphasis on production reliability, evaluation, and compliance in a regulated setting.

You will own end-to-end delivery including integration with enterprise data, guardrails, and scalable backend design, while advancing CI/CD and secure tool access practices to prevent boundary breaches.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience building and shipping AI agent systems in production.
• Ownership of an evaluation pipeline for a production AI system.
• Experience debugging production AI failures.
• Proficiency in Python and LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, or equivalent).
• RAG architecture: retrieval pipeline design, vector database implementation, chunking and embedding strategy.
• API design and backend integration at production scale.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate the AI agent systems powering ARC AI products.
• Own architecture, evaluation pipelines, production reliability, guardrails, and backend integrations.
• Set engineering standards with a focus on evaluation and security boundaries between model reasoning and enforcement.
