Job summary

Blue Pearl HQ in Johannesburg seeks an experienced AI Engineer to design, develop, deploy, and optimize AI/ML solutions for complex business challenges. You will build AI-powered apps, Generative AI solutions, intelligent agents, and scalable ML systems.

Collaborate with data scientists and engineers, implement LLMs and RAG architectures, deploy on cloud, and ensure governance and security. Requires 5+ years in software development and 3+ years in AI/ML engineering with strong Python skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years of hands-on AI/ML engineering experience.
• Strong Python development skills.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-Learn.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy AI and Machine Learning models.
• Build and maintain Generative AI applications and AI-powered solutions.
• Develop Proof of Concepts (POCs) and Minimum Viable Products (MVPs).
• Implement Large Language Models (LLMs) and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures.
• Develop AI agents and workflow automation solutions.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Engineers, and Business Stakeholders.
• Monitor and optimize AI model performance.
• Ensure AI solutions meet governance, security, and compliance requirements.
• Deploy AI workloads within cloud environments.
