Job summary

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd. is seeking a Quantity Surveying professional to provide advisory and support for contracts, costing, and payment certification across grid projects in Limpopo. The role focuses on cost control, monitoring contractors, and ensuring governance and SHEQ compliance.

Ideal applicants will have a B Degree/B Tech in Built Environment or related field with 5 years’ experience in quantity surveying or cost engineering within the built environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level qualification in built environment or related field with NQF 7 and 360 credits.
• Minimum 5 years in Quantity Surveying/ Cost Engineering within the built environment.
• Experience in governance, cost control and project lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Provide quantity surveying advisory and support for contracts collation and costing.
• Draft cost estimates for capital investment projects.
• Monitor consultants, contractors and suppliers for cost and performance.
• Draft, review and certify enquiries and payment documentation.
• Reconcile and forecast expenditure; mentor staff; ensure SHEQS compliance.

Area of specialization: To provide quantity surveying advisory and support service to the grid in terms of contracts collation, costing, payment certification, evaluation and dispute resolution to meet the contract management service needs from a central database. Task Grade: G15. Business Unit: Northern Grid. Location: Limpopo

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform functions and advise on quantity surveying standard services provided throughout the project life cycle
• Draft cost estimated for capital investment projects
• Monitor consultants, contractors and supplier performance (quantity and cost)
• Draft, review, measure and control the effectiveness of enquiry documentation
• Reconcile and forecast expenditure
• Mentor and coach quantity surveying personnel
• Comply to all Eskom and site related governance and safety, health, environment, risk and qualify (SHEQs) requirements
