Job Mission

Eskom is looking for a Senior Advisor, Financial Accounting to oversee transaction supervision, integration, and control, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and legislation to support sound financial discipline.

Key Responsibilities

1. Control Facilitation: Maintain controls by applying IFRS, regulations, and legislation; implement sound financial discipline; keep updated on practices; investigate audit findings; influence operational procedures; recommend process improvements.
2. Month-end Processing: Ensure accurate financial statements; monitor ledger balances; manage bank accounts; execute month-end activities; investigate irregularities; prepare reconciliations and reports; validate accounts; prepare journals; and ensure compliance with policies.
3. Financial Reporting & Analysis: Interpret management information; perform variance analysis; manage control frameworks; support budgeting and forecasting.
4. Service Delivery: Verify exception reports; authorize master data; process payments; review credit notes; manage debtor administration; record transactions accurately.
5. Financial Planning & Budgeting: Lead budget and forecast submissions; manage cash flow forecasting; analyze assumptions and outcomes.

Qualifications & Experience

B Degree / B Tech in Commerce / Financial Accounting at NQF 7 with Credits. Minimum 5 years' experience in financial or management accounting.
