We are looking for a Senior Admissions Officer to support our Student Recruitment team in managing and evaluating student applications for both undergraduate and postgraduate studies. This pivotal role ensures compliance with admissions policies, provides high-quality support to applicants and staff, and helps drive an efficient, applicant-focused admissions journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application & Admissions Administration: Evaluate and process applications in line with established criteria and admissions policies. Collaborate closely with Student Recruitment teams to manage queries, waitlists, expired offers, and conditional admissions. Issue and manage official documentation, including admission letters and offers of study. Ensure accurate data tracking, reporting, and compliance with internal policies and timelines. Liaise with Finance and other departments on admissions-related matters.
- Student Registration Support: Monitor and manage student registration processes, ensuring documentation is complete and aligned with admissions criteria. Support the counselling documentation process for School of Education applicants. Facilitate transfer, external credit, and special registration processes.
- Leadership & Training: Provide guidance and mentorship to Admissions Officers. Support training initiatives across the team and ensure upskilling as admissions processes evolve.
- Compliance & Reporting: Ensure compliance with all international student requirements and institutional registration/audit deadlines. Act as a key escalation point for admissions-related queries. Assist in compiling and maintaining accurate reports for senior management.
About You:
- Proven experience in admissions or student services, ideally within a higher education setting.
- Strong understanding of admissions processes and compliance requirements (including SAQA, USAF, and POPIA).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – you're comfortable liaising across departments and guiding applicants with clarity.
- Detail-oriented with strong administrative and organisational skills.
- A proactive and collaborative team player who can manage multiple priorities and support team development.
