Job summary

Metropolitan seeks a Senior Actuary: Team Leader to lead development and management of competitive insurance products across sales channels. You will ensure profitability and relevance while aligning with client experience goals in a dynamic market.

The role requires strong actuarial modelling, pricing knowledge and stakeholder collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver value for low- to middle-income clients across SA.

Qualifications

• Degree in Actuarial Sciences, Statistical Analysis, Mathematics or related field.
• Qualified Actuary (FASSA/FIA/etc.).
• Knowledge of actuarial modelling, product pricing and statistical analysis techniques.
• 3–5 years’ experience in a product owner/manager role.
• Experience with RiskAgility/Prophet, SDLC, VBA, SQL is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Analyse product and client data from various sources to identify insights and issues.
• Analyse competitor products and trends to inform end-to-end solutions.
• Review experience investigations and pricing to monitor profitability of products.
• Prepare product health reports and present profitability insights to support decisions.
• Develop and maintain pricing models and validate parameters.
• Identify cost efficiencies and improve operational effectiveness.
