Position: Senior Accounting Manager

We’re seeking a Senior Accounting Manager with robust experience in U.S. GAAP, regulatory compliance, and full-cycle accounting. This leadership role will play a key part in driving financial accuracy, compliance, and operational excellence. Reporting directly to the CFO, the ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, deep technical accounting skills, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally to support a growing organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses.
- Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, as well as accounting regulations.
- Maintain and enforce a strong internal control environment.
Accounting Operations
- Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, cash flow, and general ledger maintenance.
- Manage reconciliations of key accounts, including A/R, credit card transactions, and cash accounts.
- Validate and track chargebacks, credit memos, customer disputes, and unearned discounts.
- Supervise billing processes, customer invoicing, and collections to ensure healthy cash flow.
Leadership & Cross-Functional Support
- Partner closely with Sales, Operations, and Planning teams to ensure financial alignment.
- Support ERP integrations and process improvements, with a focus on automation and scalability.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor financial health and drive strategic decisions.
- Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and banks.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA a strong plus).
- 7+ years of progressive experience in accounting, ideally in a retail, product, or consumer goods environment.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and financial regulations.
- Proven experience managing the full month-end close and financial reporting cycle.
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, revenue recognition, and inventory accounting.
- Advanced Excel skills; comfortable building reports, dashboards, and financial models.
- Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably NetSuite.
