Job description

We are looking for a Senior Accountant in Port Elizabeth.

Responsibilities include:

1. Processing of accounting records onto a computerized accounting system to ensure accurate and complete books.
2. Preparing annual financial statements for CC’s, trusts, sole proprietors, and Body Corporates, along with working paper files.
3. Calculating taxes owed by businesses and individuals.
4. Completing statutory returns such as PAYE, UIF, SDL, VAT, etc.
5. Liaising directly with clients.
6. Supervising and training junior and intermediate accountants.

Academic Qualifications Required:

• Matric with Accounting at a Higher Grade.
• BCom degree or equivalent with Accounting III and taxation.
• Completed SAIPA or SAICA articles, or
• More than 6 years of experience in an accounting practice.

Skills, Competencies, and Experience Required:

• Six or more years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Pastel, Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), Windows, CaseWare, Xero.
