SENIOR ACCOUNANT / JUNIOR FINANCE MANAGER (HYBRID) - R55-60k pm - CBD, CAPE TOWN

International Logistics company, one of the largest in their Niche has an outstanding opportunity available for a Senior Accountant with a very good understanding of accounting principles and a strong work ethic.. A can-do attitude and desire to add value and grow are important. The role combines relatively complex reconciliations and some financial analysis, data entry, issuance of invoices, payment of invoices and requires someone logical, with strong number skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accounts receivable - prepare and distribute client invoices, update clients' Statement of Accounts (SoAs), follow up with clients about outstanding payments
  • Experience with international entities and DTA's highly advantageous
  • Post client invoices in the accounting software
  • Post bank statements and perform a bank reconciliation
  • Verify correctness of vendor invoices via an established reconciliation process
  • Post supplier invoices
  • Reconcile and post Senior Management expenses
  • Assist with month-end close and preparation of financial statements
  • Assist with financial analysis of various projects or initiatives
  • Contribute to improving the existing accounting processes
  • Build cross-functional relationships across the company
  • Perform ad-hoc assignments as needed


Requirements
  • University degree (Accounting, Business, Economics)
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance
  • International Finance experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Office (particularly Excel)
  • Practical knowledge of any other analytical tools is an advantage
  • Practical knowledge of working with an accounting software pref QUICKBOOKS ONLINE or XERO
  • Practical and logical approach to resolving business problems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Professional, proactive, open to learning, "can do' attitude
