Job Title: Senior Accountant

About the Opportunity

Hire Resolve is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accountant for an esteemed firm based in the picturesque coastal town of Hermanus. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable and reputable organization and contribute significantly to their financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of accounting duties, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and providing valuable financial insights.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the full accounting function, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and fixed assets.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with relevant accounting standards.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions.
• Manage and reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet items.
• Assist with the preparation and coordination of audits, both internal and external.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures.
• Analyze financial data and provide insightful reports to management.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant tax laws and regulations, including VAT and income tax.
• Prepare and submit statutory returns.
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, as required.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
• Ad hoc tasks and projects as required.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a relevant field.
• A professional accounting qualification (e.g., SAICA, SAIPA) is highly advantageous.
• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant, with a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Solid knowledge of relevant accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in Financial Services.
• A strong work ethic and a commitment to meeting deadlines.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Hermanus.
