Job summary

Shift Pursuit in Bloemfontein is seeking an Accounting Professional with a solid background in financial accounting, reporting, and payroll. The role focuses on accurate records, GL reconciliations, and monthly management accounts, while ensuring statutory compliance.

The successful candidate will hold SAIPA/AGA qualifications, a relevant accounting degree, and demonstrable experience in accounting environments, with strong Excel skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Must hold SAIPA/AGA qualification and relevant accounting qualification, with proven experience.
• Must have strong understanding of financial accounting and reporting.
• Payroll experience is required and payroll processes should be familiar.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-function accounting processes and maintain accurate financial records.
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure all accounts are accurately maintained.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports.
• Process and review accounting transactions, journals, and adjustments.
• Perform bank, creditor, debtor, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with year-end financial statement preparation and audit requirements.
• Manage and process payroll functions accurately and timeously.
• Assist with VAT, PAYE, UIF and other statutory submissions where required.
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, policies, and legislation.
• Utilise accounting and financial systems effectively, including Pastel, Sage Online and CaseWare Working Papers.
• Identify discrepancies and implement solutions to maintain financial accuracy.
• Provide support to management with financial information and reporting requirements.
