Placements24 is seeking a Senior Accountant in Klerksdorp, North West, to drive IFRS-based financial reporting and general ledger management. The role blends in-office collaboration with remote work, supporting the Financial Controller and the broader finance team.

You will manage month-end close, assist budgeting, and mentor junior staff, with a focus on accuracy and process improvements. A CA(SA)/ACCA/CIMA qualification is preferred and a minimum of four years’ experience is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• CA(SA), ACCA or CIMA qualification preferred.
• Minimum 4 years progressive accounting experience.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and SA accounting practices.
• Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
• Proficiency in SAP, Sage, Pastel and Excel.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and review IFRS-based financial statements monthly, quarterly, and annually.
• Manage general ledger and ensure accuracy of entries.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Perform bank and intercompany reconciliations.
• Assist budgeting and forecasting processes.

About the Role Our client, a dynamic and growing entity within the financial services sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join their finance department in Klerksdorp, North West . This role is integral to the company's financial operations, involving a broad spectrum of accounting functions including financial reporting, management accounting, and general ledger management. The successful candidate will contribute to accurate financial statements and provide valuable insights to support strategic business decisions. This position operates under a hybrid model, blending essential in-office collaboration with the flexibility of remote work. You will be a key member of the finance team, working closely with the Financial Controller, and will have opportunities to influence financial processes and controls within our Klerksdorp, North West operations. Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
• Manage the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all accounting entries.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional qualification (e.g., CA(SA), ACCA, CIMA) is highly preferred.
• Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of IFRS and South African accounting practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Sage, Pastel) and advanced Excel skills.
• Experience with financial reporting and analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy.
