Job Title: Senior Accountant Budget, Planning and Reporting

Location: Gauteng, Centurion

Description

  • Support the budget planning process
  • Draft CSOS’s budget in a format prescribed by the National Treasury, dividing it into capital and operating budgets
  • Reflect realistic anticipated revenues by major sources in the budget draft
  • Support the financial reporting process
  • Prepare financial reports in compliance with relevant templates and legislative frameworks
  • Review the general ledger and maintain accounting systems
  • Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly financial management reports
  • Prepare annual financial statements and ENE reports
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements using the National Treasury template
  • Assist in preparing the organisation’s annual report
  • Submit financial reports, budget performance reports, and other required information to the National Treasury and Auditor General
  • Prepare for the Auditor General’s audit process

Requirements

  • National Diploma or Degree in a finance-related field (NQF Level 7)
  • 3–5 years relevant experience in finance
  • Good knowledge of Generally Recognised Accounting Practice (GRAP) and other financial principles
  • Understanding of legislation including PFMA and Treasury Regulations
  • Implementation of internal controls
  • Budgeting principles
  • Business and system processes
  • Ability to make informed decisions
  • Ability to draft OLA policies and procedures
  • OLA management skills
