Job description

Job Title: Head of Finance

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Head of Finance will oversee the company's financial operations and ensure accuracy and compliance across all financial activities.

1. Lead the Finance department, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
2. Drive process improvements to streamline financial operations, reduce costs, and align with group best practices.
3. Oversee banking relationships, foreign exchange transactions, and currency fluctuations, especially related to Nigeria.
4. Support pricing strategies, cost management, and profitability analysis.
5. Develop and implement internal control systems, policies, and procedures within the department.
6. Manage cash flow, process journals, and oversee payroll.
7. Leverage financial software such as SAGE and group-shared IT systems to enhance reporting, forecasting, and efficiency.
8. Review and sign off on the annual financial statements.
9. Assist with software-related issues, including SAGE and Synchro teams.
10. Ensure a strong accounting background to support all financial activities.
11. Willingness to travel to Nigeria branch for extended periods.
