Senior Accountant

This role will be based in our Durbanville, Cape Town offices.

The ideal Candidate has the following Experience & Qualifications:

• Honours/Post Graduate Degree in Accounting or similar essential
• CA (SA) or CIMA Preferred
• 5 – 7 years business experience in accounting and reporting
• 3 – 4 years supervisory experience is preferred
• Experience with Manufacturing is preferred.

Additional responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Responsible for the daily execution of financial and accounting functions (including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Cash)
• Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements for discrepancies and alert management as necessary.
• Prepare monthly financial statements for specific business units.
• Assist with external audit activities with banks and tax auditors, including planning, preparation, and data gathering.
• Proactively interact with various departments to provide information necessary for decision-making, profitability, and proper accounting procedures.
• Perform additional duties and assist with other projects upon request from management.
• As a trusted business advisor, undertake responsibilities such as:
• Work with business unit managers to develop data measurement and reporting systems to project results against models.
• Provide insights on business opportunities, risks, and financial considerations.
• Provide financial insights into business performance to support decision-making with leaders including Presidents, CFOs, COO, CTO, and Vice Presidents.
• Communicate financial performance to business owners and assist with ad-hoc requests and projects.
• Evaluate data, prepare forecasts, and analyze trends in sales, operations, manufacturing, and other areas.
• Support and assist in preparing quarterly forecasts and annual budgets through reporting and analysis.
