Position Overview: Are you ready to take your career to the next level? As a Senior Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in our Finance department, driving complex accounting analysis, documentation, and reporting. Your expertise will also be crucial in supporting AML (Anti-Money Laundering) initiatives, payroll, and benefits administration. This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact and contribute to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Financial Reporting: Compile financial reports for management, directors, and regulatory bodies.
  2. AML Compliance: Develop, implement, and monitor AML policies and procedures. Conduct due diligence checks and maintain AML documentation.
  3. Payroll Administration: Process payroll accurately and on time, maintain employee records, and ensure compliance with labor laws.
  4. Procedure Development: Write procedures, monitor for efficiencies, and support other divisions.
  5. Support Roles: Assist with member and CRA year-end tax reporting, troubleshoot issues, and provide support to the Controller, VP Finance, and CEO.
Qualifications
  1. Education: High school diploma with business and computer courses. Post-secondary education in accounting or a related field is preferred. CUIC Credit Union Products and Services certification is a plus.
  2. Experience: 2-5 years in accounting or finance, preferably in a Credit Union environment.
  3. Certifications: AML certification (e.g., CAMS) is a plus.
  4. Skills: Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of accounting processes and regulations.
