Senior Accountant

Duties & Responsibilities

• Accurately record and maintain all financial transactions.
• Update and manage the general ledger.
• Reconcile all entries within the accounting system.
• Record and allocate debits and credits appropriately.
• Maintain the trial balance through regular reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
• Perform account reconciliations to ensure transaction accuracy.
• Apply knowledge of local regulations to meet reporting and compliance requirements.
• Monitor and report on variances between actual and projected budgets.
• Assist the Group Accountant with the preparation of financial statements.
• Generate and issue customer invoices and maintain accurate records of payments.
• Follow up on outstanding customer payments.
• Ensure all financial records are accurate, complete, and compliant with legal standards.
• Perform any other ad hoc duties as required.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a similar role.
• Proven experience in supervising and managing junior accounting staff.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and accounting systems preferably Sage Evolution or Business Central.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and standards.
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Professional, assertive, and able to communicate effectively at all levels.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
