Job summary

Perfect Placement Recruitment is seeking a Senior Accountant for our client in George/Mosselbaai. The suitable candidate has just completed a Clerkship and preferably holds a BCom Accounting Degree.

You will join a reputable firm with a professional environment and contribute to financial reporting and tax processes. Responsibilities include compiling financial statements, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, VAT returns, SARS reviews, and preparing management accounts to support business

Qualifications

• Clerkship completed is mandatory.
• BCom Accounting Degree preferred.
• Excellent computer literacy is required.
• Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans.

Responsibilities

• Compile financial statements and perform independent review processes.
• Process invoices and bank transactions efficiently.
• Reconcile bank accounts, debtors, and creditors.
• Prepare and reconcile general ledger entries.
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations.
• Prepare VAT reconciliations and manage VAT201 returns.
• Handle SARS VAT reviews and audits.
• Provide accounting and clerical support to the department.
• Prepare management accounts to support business decisions.

Duties

• Compile financial statements and perform independent review processes

• Reconcile bank accounts, debtors, and creditors

• Prepare year-to-date VAT reconciliations and manage VAT201 returns
• Handle SARS VAT reviews and audits
• Provide accounting and clerical support to the department
• Prepare management accounts to support business decisions

Requirements

• Grade 12 qualification with experience in financial statement compilation
• Clerkship completed (non- negotiable)
• Bcom Accounting Degree (preferred)
• Not less than 3 years working experience
• Excellent computer literacy skills
• Fully bilingual in English and Afrikaans
• Previous experience working on Draftworx would be beneficial.
• Previous experience working on Sage Online, Sage Pastel and Xero (beneficial).
