Job OverviewThe Senior Accountant will play a critical role in overseeing the preparation of financial statements, managing month-end processes, leading junior staff, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.

This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, proactive individual with strong technical skills and a desire to grow within a reputable firm.

Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and review financial statements and management reports.Manage month-end and year-end closing processes.Handle general ledger reconciliation and journal entries.Ensure compliance with IFRS and local tax regulations.Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.Assist in audits, both internal and external.Liaise with clients to provide financial insights and resolve queries.Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices.Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.Ensure timely submission of SARS returns (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax).

Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Professional qualification (SAIPA / SAICA registered or in progress preferred).Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a public practice.Experience with CaseWare, Pastel, Xero, or similar accounting software.
