Our Insurance / Financial Services Client in Bellville is looking for a Senior Accountant with 5 years of POST SAICA experience from the financial services / insurance industry, with expertise in IFRS 15, 16 & 17.

Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 or similar qualifications are essential.
- BCom / B. Accounting degree + Honour’s degree or a post diploma.
- Completed SAICA articles; 5 years post-article experience including audit principles.
- Up to 2 years’ post-qualification experience in Payroll (preferably in People 300 / VIP Payroll).
- Caseware knowledge and experience.
- Applied knowledge of IFRS 15, 16 & 17.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Key Responsibilities
- SARS - Attend to SARS queries.
- Reporting - Prepare and update management account templates for management and board.
- Liability & Expenses - Perform review procedures every month.
- Prepare IFRS 16 related calculations and journals (Vehicles & Rentals on branches).
- Assist with payroll and queries.
- Income Statements - Accounting to trial balance expenses, perform review procedures.
- Debtors / Creditors & Income / Expenses.
- Cash / Expense - Perform review procedures on petty cash reconciliations.
- Balance sheet items - Perform review procedures on the suspense control account.
- Assets / Expenses / Liabilities
- Review the fixed asset register to ensure it is updated with all relevant invoices as per Pastel GL.
- Assist with preparing yearly budget reporting, specifically IFRS 16.
- Payroll Review & Reporting - Perform review procedures on quarterly payroll stats.
- SARS - Prepare provisional tax, submit for approval, and handle EMP201 return submissions and payments.
