Senior Account - Consulting Engineering Industry - R720K - R600K

Hire Resolve's client is an established Engineering Consulting firm, which is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Accountant to join their dynamic finance team in Randburg, Gauteng.

Responsibilities:

1. Payroll
2. Processing books of account Xero, Sage, Pastel.
3. VAT reconciliations, preparation, and submission
4. Management accounts and company accounting records (reviews for external clients)
5. Training of accounting staff (about 5 – 6 accountants)
6. Client liaison and correspondence
7. Monthly billings process
8. Time management of all accounting staff
9. Other ad hoc tasks
10. Producing accurate and complete year-end preparation for annual financial statements.

Requirements:

1. Technical savvy to assist with year-end preparations and accounting calculations and journals.
2. Able to sort out client queries and meet with new clients.
3. High level understanding and application of accounting standards (the accounting department prepares year-end accounting packs which are audited by their audit department – these need to be at a level where no further journal entries are required by the accounting department, including fixed asset register maintenance, accounting for finance leases, VAT recons, payroll recons to name a few).
4. High level understanding of taxation (companies and individuals – to assess impact of transactions on company and directors), some aspects of tax planning to be able to advise clients of tax effective structures within their business.
5. Able to manage all aspects of the accounting department, with reporting to the director and other department heads, ensuring that quality output is achieved for all clients on their monthly accounting process and monthly management accounts.

Benefits:

• Salary: R600K/yr - R720K/yr, salary negotiable
