An established industry player is seeking a skilled financial professional to lead their financial reporting and compliance efforts. In this pivotal role, you will prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring adherence to IFRS/GAAP, while also overseeing budgeting and forecasting processes. Financial Reporting & Compliance:
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Oversee reconciliations of accounts, including bank, payroll, and general ledger.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
• Develop and monitor budgets and financial forecasts.
• Analyze financial data to provide insights on business performance.
• Assist in financial decision-making by preparing variance analyses.
Taxation & Regulatory Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with local tax regulations (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax).
• Prepare and submit tax returns and liaise with tax authorities.
• Stay updated with changes in accounting and tax laws.
Internal Controls & Process Improvement:
• Maintain and improve financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Identify areas for cost reduction and operational efficiencies.
• Ensure adherence to company financial policies and procedures.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement:
• Supervise and mentor junior accountants and finance staff.
• Collaborate with auditors, external consultants, and regulatory bodies.
• Provide financial insights to senior management and support business strategy.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CA(SA) / ACCA / CIMA / CPA (or equivalent qualification).
• Minimum of 5–8 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP and tax regulations.
• Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Xero, QuickBooks, or similar).
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
