Key Responsibilities
  • Provide physical and communication support tailored to the individual needs of the child.
  • Support full access to the curriculum and extracurricular activities, including lessons, assemblies, parent evenings, reviews, and visits.
  • Work with individuals and groups of students with additional needs under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
  • Assist in planning and organizing learning activities for supported students.
  • Facilitate cognitive development by removing barriers to learning.
  • Support students' physical welfare and assist with physical needs, such as lifting, moving, handling, and intimate care.
  • Contribute to setting and reviewing individual targets under the guidance of the SENCO, attend review meetings, and contribute to reports.
  • Monitor student progress, maintain records, and provide feedback to teachers.
Skills & Experience
  • Experience in learning support or working with young people with learning disabilities (e.g., autism, ADHD).
  • Experience in an educational environment providing academic or personal care support.
  • Willingness to provide personal care support, including PEG feeding, toileting, and changing, for students with high needs.
  • Immediate availability for interview.
  • Right to Work & Enhanced DBS check within the last 3 months or on the update service.
