SEN Tutor/Mentor

Location: London

Salary: £25 - £30 per hour

Employment Type: Full time & Part time available

Aspire People is currently seeking passionate SEN Tutors to support learners in the London area. The tuition provision is in-person as one-to-one sessions, taking place in the learner's home or a community venue. This is a unique opportunity to use your experience and personal qualities to make a positive impact on a person's life and help them fulfill their potential.

Aspire People is an inclusive term-time tuition and mentoring service, providing an alternative education for children who are temporarily out of mainstream education. Our goal is to change outcomes, change lives, and re-engage children and young people with their education. We strive to create a supportive environment for our learners and tutors.

Your Role at Aspire People:

As a SEN Tutor, you will play a crucial role in delivering bespoke educational plans in an engaging and meaningful way. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Deliver KS3-KS4 Maths, English & Science sessions, with additional subjects based on your specialism
  2. Provide creative learning approaches, incorporating activities aligned with learners' interests to enhance engagement
  3. Support as a mentor with life skills and facilitate preparation for adulthood, including college applications and employability
  4. Demonstrate confidence and knowledge in supporting children with SEND
  5. Have a minimum of 6 months experience teaching or mentoring SEN learners, including ASD/ASC, ADHD & SEMH, within SEND schools, youth groups, or private settings
