Semi Skilled Maintenance Assistant

• To provide a functional and practical function to the property and under the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor to supply a maintenance service to ensure that the property, chalets, buildings, and amenities are in sound condition.
• Under direction of the Lodge Manager and the guidance of the Maintenance Supervisor, repairs, builds, installs, replaces, and maintains the buildings, fixtures, and fittings throughout the Resort.
• Ensures that the Chalets and Lodge are in a sound condition for guests and visitors.
• Any other reasonable requests as made by the General Manager.
• Preventative, scheduled maintenance and installations:

1. All or some of these functions: plumbing, electrical, painting, building, and carpentry.
2. Repairs and replaces broken toilet and sanitary ware as needed and as directed.
3. Replaces broken and burst water pipes.
4. Unblocks and cleans drains.
5. Assists in the installation of new sanitary ware.
6. Assists with rewiring and basic electrical maintenance.
7. Replaces light bulbs.
8. Installs light fittings under the direction of a qualified electrician.
9. Assists in the replacement and general maintenance of geysers and geyser elements.
10. Fixes plugs and performs basic fault finding on appliances and fittings.
11. Repairs, mends, or hangs new doors as required in Chalets or Lodge.
12. Repairs, mends, or installs new skirting or ceilings as required.
13. Mends or repairs broken or damaged window frames, wooden fittings, and furniture.
14. Sands, seals, and varnishes wooden fittings as directed.
15. Repairs wooden balustrades when necessary.
16. Replaces and repairs broken and cracked tiles.
17. Performs basic bricklaying and plastering work as directed for refurbishment of the lodge and chalets.
18. Performs Ad Hoc building projects in conjunction with the Lodge Manager as required.
19. Touch up and repaint walls and surfaces as instructed.
