Job summary

Profile Personnel Ltd in East London is seeking a highly skilled welder/fitter with extensive manufacturing and general engineering experience to join our workshop team.

You will perform measuring, cutting, welding, and fitting tasks, ensure quality against blueprints, and maintain a safe, efficient workshop. This role requires hands-on capability with milling machines and lathes, strong planning and time-management, and adherence to health and safety regulations.

Qualifications

• At least 10 years proven experience in the manufacturing industry and General Engineering environment.
• Experience with fabrication processes and workshop practices.
• Centre Lathe and Milling Machine operation familiarity.
• Mig and Tig welding experience and precision fitting ability.

Responsibilities

• Measuring and cutting materials to specifications.
• Welding materials using the correct equipment to join the materials together.
• Ensuring workshop safety and smooth operation.
• Repairing cracked or broken metal work.
• Checking finished work against blueprints for tolerance.
• Maintenance support.
• Able to plan ahead.
