Placements24 is seeking a Geophysicist specializing in seismic data analysis to join its Exploration team in Centurion, Gauteng. You will interpret subsurface structures and identify hydrocarbon targets using advanced seismic processing and interpretation techniques.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or Ph.D. in Geophysics, Physics, or a related earth science field.
• Significant experience in seismic data processing and interpretation within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency with geophysical software such as Kingdom Suite, Petrel, or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of seismic wave propagation, reflection seismology, and data acquisition methods.
• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex datasets.
• Experience with amplitude variation with offset (AVO) analysis and seismic attributes is essential.

Responsibilities

• Process, interpret, and quality control seismic data (2D/3D/4D) to identify geological targets.
• Integrate seismic data with well log and geological information to create comprehensive subsurface models.
• Utilize geophysical software packages for data analysis, attribute extraction, and inversion.
• Conduct seismic surveys planning and supervise acquisition operations when required.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess exploration risks and opportunities.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in geophysical techniques and technologies.
