Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Remote Subsurface Analyst to join their globally integrated geoscience team, supporting Upington and beyond. The role focuses on integrating and interpreting seismic data, logs, and core information to build robust subsurface models and inform exploration decisions.

You will work with exploration geologists, reservoir engineers, and geophysicists, applying Petrel and Kingdom Suite to analyze data, assess uncertainty, and prepare clear technical reports for management.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• Minimum 5 years in subsurface analysis/exploration/reservoir characterization.
• Proficient in geological/geophysical software (Petrel, Kingdom).
• Strong understanding of sedimentology, stratigraphy, structural geology, and petrophysics.
• Experience with reservoir simulation and data integration techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and remote collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Integrate and interpret diverse subsurface data, including seismic, well logs, core data, and production information.
• Develop and refine subsurface geological models and reservoir characterizations.
• Perform volumetric analysis and uncertainty assessments for potential hydrocarbon resources.
• Collaborate with geophysicists to evaluate seismic data and identify exploration opportunities.
• Work closely with reservoir engineers to understand reservoir performance and optimize field development strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and summaries of subsurface evaluations for management.
• Utilize advanced software tools for data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
